Salzburg Cathedral

Salzburg Cathedral is the stunning Baroque cathedral located in the heart of Old Salzburg.  The current structure was built in the 17th century following a fire.

The first church on this site was founded in 774 and dedicated to Saint Rupert and Saint Vergilius.

Salzburg Cathedral is located on Cathedral Square (Domplatz).  Residenzplatz (Square) is located on its north side.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was baptized in Salzburg Cathedral on January 28, 1756.
