Mozart's Birthplace

Salzburg Austria is often referred to as the "City of Mozart".  It was here in the "Old Town", that Mozart was born and raised.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart came into the world on January 27th, 1756.  He was born in apartment #9 on Getreidegasse (street).

Mozart and his family lived in this third floor suite from 1746 until 1773.

Mozart's birthplace is now a museum that is visited each year by thousands of his fans. The building is called "Mozarts Geburtshaus" in German.

The museum explores the composer's early life and his growing interest in music and opera.
