New Town Map

The city of Salzburg is located in central Austria, not far from the German border.  It is divided by the Salzach River into two portions.

The "Old Town" (Altstadt) is located on the west bank of the river while the "New Town" is on the eastern side of the river.

Salzburg's "New Town"

Attractions in Salzburg's New Town include Mirabel Palace, Mirabel Gardens and the Salzburg Congress.  The main train station (Hauptbahnhof Salzburg) is also located in the New Town.

The pedestrian promenade that runs through the community is called Linzer Gasse.
